Beyond Four Walls: Furnishing New Paths to Stability with Madge Phillips Apartments

Madge Phillips Apartments: Creating a Home from Day One with Waypoint

In 2026, CFR has partnered with Waypoint to furnish 12 entry-level apartments at Madge Phillips, including studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units.

Rather than residents moving into empty apartments and trying to purchase everything at once, CFR has been able to help provide the furniture and everyday household necessities needed from the beginning—from beds and seating to cookware, dishes, shower curtains, small appliances, and other essentials.

Housing doesn’t always look like a traditional house or apartment anymore—and CFR’s model is evolving with our community.

No matter what model of housing we are serving, our mission remains rooted in four basic promises: a place to prepare and serve a meal, a space to bathe with dignity, a spot for a good night’s sleep, and a comfortable place to sit.

For someone beginning again, having those basic promises fufilled and waiting for them can make an apartment immediately feel like a home.

Different housing. Different journeys. The same human need to feel at home. Central Furniture Rescue is proud to work alongside housing providers and community partners in Eastern Iowa to make sure that when someone receives the key to a new space, they also have the essentials they need to live there with dignity.
